DESCRIPTION:Sonar Sessions is a monthly Sunday evening event\, showcasing artists in the genres of world\, jazz\, soul\, acoustic & folk. Each Sonar Session will present a carefully curated lineup of live acts showcasing established artists alongside emerging local talent. \nOur COLLAB series will pair acts together\, creating new musical partnerships that generate innovative original work. This new music will be performed live at Sonar Sessions. \n \n \nFolk standards\, catchy choruses\, belting rhythms\, and tunes to make the heart sing. Rare and beautiful folk songs from around Europe and America arranged and interwoven with care and craft\, and plenty of craic. Hebble are an eclectic world folk band with a unique set of instruments that play lively\, international traditional music in multiple languages. Probably the only trio with Greek Bouzouki\, Bodhran\, and Cello + 3 vocals. Hebble also has a handful of original songs and tunes inspired by the myth and landscape of the British Isles. Upbeat and interactive with twists of the alternative\, and plenty of three-part harmonies. \nSatnam Galsian is a British-Asian vocalist. Since receiving her Indian classical music degree from Birmingham Conservatoire she has been working with a range of artists creatively exploring the interplay between North Indian and Western music traditions. \nSunday 29th November – The Watershed Slaithwaite \n \n \nDoors open at 6.30pm \nPlease note tickets are non refundable \nThe venue has a fully licensed bar\, cabaret style seating and disabled access toilets. \n

DESCRIPTION:Sonar Sessions is a monthly Sunday evening event\, showcasing artists in the genres of world\, jazz\, soul\, acoustic & folk. Each Sonar Session will present a carefully curated lineup of live acts showcasing established artists alongside emerging local talent. \n\n\n \nYorkshire-based folk trio Lonan weave together compelling narrative tales and driving instrumental tunes. Often drawing upon contemporary issues as well as traditional song\, the band explores the eclectic musical palettes of Evan Davies (mandolin\, fiddle\, guitar\, vocals)\, Katy Ryder (flute\, whistles\, guitar\, vocals) and Robin Timmis (guitar\, fiddle\, vocals). Their other projects include award-winning bluegrass outfit\, The Often Herd\, Lisbon-based Casa De Klezmer and the British Library-backed project Living with Machines. \nLonan have since performed at festivals including Llangollen International Eisteddfod\, Hebden Bridge Folk Festival and Northern Green Gathering\, and their music has been played on shows such as Mike Norris’ Classic Folk and Ian Anderson’s Podwireless\, as well as a living room concert live on Chapel FM. \n\nJasmine Kennedy is an acoustic singer/songwriter who sings from the heart; her lyrics a collection of throwaway observations and bittersweet tales which possess a remarkable power to stun an audience into silence.
