A welcoming wellbeing choir for everyone
Wednesdays | 10am–12 noon | £7 per session
Sing Global is a friendly, welcoming wellbeing choir for anyone who enjoys getting together for a good old sing-song! Open to all, the choir brings people together through the shared joy of singing, offering a relaxed and sociable space to connect with others, lift your spirits and enjoy the benefits of making music together.
We sing songs from across genres, cultures and eras, exploring a wonderfully varied repertoire. From familiar favourites and uplifting classics to music from around the world, there is something for everyone. Our sessions include a mixture of accompaniment and a cappella singing, with songs chosen to bring joy, encourage participation and create a positive atmosphere.
There is no pressure to sing perfectly, read music or have any previous experience. Sing Global is about taking part, enjoying yourself and discovering the wellbeing benefits of singing with others. Whether you love to sing at the top of your voice or prefer to join in quietly, you will be made very welcome.
As well as our weekly sessions, Sing Global enjoys sharing music through light-hearted performances at local community events. These have included visits to residents at Meadow Court, performances at the Slaithwaite Christmas Light Switch-On and appearances at other community gatherings.
These informal performances offer opportunities to share the joy of singing, connect with people across generations and bring music into the heart of our local community. The emphasis is always on enjoyment, participation and togetherness rather than perfection.
Sing Global is led by Sky Burton-Smith, Jess Baker, Andy Burton and Gill Bond, who rotate the leadership of sessions. This collaborative approach brings a variety of musical styles, ideas and approaches to the choir, keeping sessions fresh, varied and engaging.
